Had a lot of errands to run so late update.
Squats are a bit hard for me. Not only do I not have a spotter but I don’t have a safety cage so I have to make sure I don’t drop the bar. I am slowly getting higher reps so I will raise the weight some more.
Deads are just too much fun. If there is a single workout that comes close to a total body torture, Deads would be it.

Got a really bad night’s sleep so it was very hard to stay motivated. Did my minimum and then did my abs workout and that was all I could muster.

I thought that doing a chest workout in the morning and doing the Hundred Pushup routine in the afternoon would slow me down a bit….nope. Felt pretty good and had no problems with the first 4 sets. The final set was easy till I got to about 16 then I had to push to get the last 3 out.
Looking ahead, it seems that this week should be easy and I can’t wait till the weekend to do the endurance test again to see where I stand. My first test was 19 pushups so I am hoping that I can get close to 30 by the end of this week.
The goal for Week 2 Day 1 was 12/12/9/7/max (at least 10)
Here are my totals:

Week 2 Day 2 will be on Wed morning or afternoon.
Mondays are always a great workout. Fully rested weekend and carb loaded muscles are just primed to be abused.
Only did 45 minutes of elliptical cardio at 75% max heart rate. Hundred pushups Week 2 Day 1 is later today. Should be fun after bench presses.
Third day was bit tougher. First two sets were easy. Last two were a bit harder. The last max rep was very hard and it took me a bit longer to finish the goal but I threw an extra one for good measure.
The goal for this day was 15/13/10/10/at least 15.
I did 15/13/10/10/16. The last one (16th) was a “gave it my all” to finish it.
Week 2 Day 1 will be Monday and it should be pretty hard since that is also my chest workout day.
Weekend workouts are always tough but I felt very strong today. My reps in dips went up and my cable row weight also went up. I was conservative on barbell rows but I could have easily gone up another 10-20lbs. DB Tri extensions were tough but I am trying to increase weight each week.

Week 1 Day 3 of Hundred Pushups is later today. This should be fun.
Second day was a little harder but still easy to complete. Probably did not help that I did a chest workout this morning.
The goal for Week 1 Day 2 is 12/12/10/10/at least 10
I did 12/12/10/10/14.
Week 1 Day 3 will be on Sat.
Pretty good workout. I like bicep workouts since I can abuse/torture them and they never give me problems afterwards. Anybody try spider curls? Man, talk about a muscle killer. Mental note to self: Do these at the end from now on.

Doing Hundred Pushup and abs later today.
Squats!!! I hate them and I love them. Trying to slowly get back up to 5×5.

Also 60 minutes on the elliptical with an average HR of 134-136bpm.
First day was a piece of cake.
The goal for Week 1 Day 1 is 10/10/8/6/at least 7
I did 10/10/8/6/14.
Week 1 Day 2 will be on Thurs.
This seems like it could a very fun challenge since the last rep really tells you where you stand. 14 down, 86 to go.
No wrist pain and no cardio work. Will do my first Hundred Pushup workout day later this afternoon.

How many consecutive can you do without stopping? 20, 30, 50, 75? How about 100? I have decided to take the 100 pushup challenge by doing the HundredPushups.com six-week training program.
Why 100 pushups? Why not (my favorite answer). One hundred seems like a real nice round number and to just say that I was able to do 100 consecutive pushups sounds like fun.
The program is really simple. You take the initial test to see how many push ups you can do so you can see your fitness level. After that it’s a 3-day/week program for a total of six-weeks. Each week you start of with a determined number of push ups, depending on your initial test, and you do 5 sets. The first two sets are usually the same number of reps then you drop 1 or 2 for the next two sets while the last set is a “as many as you can do” set.
This is not so much a bodybuilding program or endurance training but more of a personal goal type of thing. Pushups are a great exercise and it should be fun to see if I can do 100 consecutive reps by the end of the six weeks.
I will log my progress.
Pretty good workout except I tweaked my wrist on the first set of ez curls. It was hard trying to finish after that.

Also did 60 minutes on the elliptical with an average heart rate of 135bpm (75% max).
