I said earlier that I had set a goal for myself of 30 push ups for the end of Week 2 Test. I am happy with myself as I was able to pull off 32 before my arms turned to noodles.
Looking forward to next week and seeing how much I progress.
All I can say is TGIF!!!!

Week 2 Day 3 of Hundred Pushup goals are 15/15/12/12/max (at least 15).
My totals:

Abs workout kicked my ass today. I am glad I did it after my regular workout.

Hundred Pushups Week 2 Day 3 is tomorrow.
A few days ago there was a $999 app on the iTunes app store. Nope, that’s not .99 cents or $9.99… it was $999 (you know $1,000 minus $1). The app has been taken down since but guess what? One dumbass actually bought it and bitched about it afterwards.
I have no idea if this is fake or not but I sure got a good laugh out of it.
It’s like the guy that tried to sell a paper clip for one million dollars and was asked how many he expected to sell and he said "I just need to sell ONE".

First four sets were easy but that last Max set was a tough one.
Goals for Week 2 Day are 16/13/11/11/max (at least 15)
My totals:

Friday will be Week 2 Day 3
Had a lot of errands to run so late update.
Squats are a bit hard for me. Not only do I not have a spotter but I don’t have a safety cage so I have to make sure I don’t drop the bar. I am slowly getting higher reps so I will raise the weight some more.
Deads are just too much fun. If there is a single workout that comes close to a total body torture, Deads would be it.

Got a really bad night’s sleep so it was very hard to stay motivated. Did my minimum and then did my abs workout and that was all I could muster.

I thought that doing a chest workout in the morning and doing the Hundred Pushup routine in the afternoon would slow me down a bit….nope. Felt pretty good and had no problems with the first 4 sets. The final set was easy till I got to about 16 then I had to push to get the last 3 out.
Looking ahead, it seems that this week should be easy and I can’t wait till the weekend to do the endurance test again to see where I stand. My first test was 19 pushups so I am hoping that I can get close to 30 by the end of this week.
The goal for Week 2 Day 1 was 12/12/9/7/max (at least 10)
Here are my totals:

Week 2 Day 2 will be on Wed morning or afternoon.
Mondays are always a great workout. Fully rested weekend and carb loaded muscles are just primed to be abused.
Only did 45 minutes of elliptical cardio at 75% max heart rate. Hundred pushups Week 2 Day 1 is later today. Should be fun after bench presses.

Do people read ingredient labels anymore? I know I do. Lately I have noticed that a lot of food companies have been using catchy words to get people to think they are eating healthy foods.
Let’s take a look at whole grain bread. Everyone should be eating whole grain breads instead of enriched white bread. Its better for you and it provides a good source of fiber. But are you really getting true benefits just because the label reads Whole wheat or whole grains.
Let’s take a look at the ingredients of two major brand whole wheat breads that you can get at your local store (I got these at Costco):
Brand A:
- whole grain wheat flour
- water
- high fructose corn syrup
- oats
- yeast
- wheat gluten
- salt
- soybean oil
- vegetable oil
- phytosterols
- non-fat milk
- grain vinegar
- sodium stearoyl lactylate
- calcium propionate (preservative)
- monoglycerides
- ascorbic acid (dough conditioner)
- soy lectcihin
Brand B:
- 100% whole grain wheat flour
- organic whole grain wheat flour
- water
- honey
- cultured wheat
- vinegar
- sea salt
- yeast
So which one would you rather eat? Remember to read those ingredients carefully.
Third day was bit tougher. First two sets were easy. Last two were a bit harder. The last max rep was very hard and it took me a bit longer to finish the goal but I threw an extra one for good measure.
The goal for this day was 15/13/10/10/at least 15.
I did 15/13/10/10/16. The last one (16th) was a “gave it my all” to finish it.
Week 2 Day 1 will be Monday and it should be pretty hard since that is also my chest workout day.
Weekend workouts are always tough but I felt very strong today. My reps in dips went up and my cable row weight also went up. I was conservative on barbell rows but I could have easily gone up another 10-20lbs. DB Tri extensions were tough but I am trying to increase weight each week.

Week 1 Day 3 of Hundred Pushups is later today. This should be fun.

Now this would be the ultimate iPhone replacement or at least a killer UMPC.
This is the Plica, a concept product by James Piatt. You can check out of this little gem here along with a higher res picture of it in the folded and closed view.
